Based in British Columbia, Canada, the Society is committed to fostering authentic digital connections free from tracking, data collection, and hidden algorithms.

Founded by a technology veteran with over 40 years of industry experience, the Society champions online safety, privacy, and transparency, ensuring that members of the Society can engage in a trusted and protected digital space.

Purpose of the Society

The purpose of the society is to create and maintain a secure, privacy-focused online environment that fosters safe communication and social engagement, free from data exploitation and intrusive practices. Specifically, the society will:

• Establish and maintain an online platform that ensures the privacy and security of its members by adhering to strict privacy standards. 
• Encourage transparent and ethical interactions among members, ensuring that all communications and activities on the platform are aligned with SocialSafety’s values of respect, safety, and integrity.
• Offer educational resources and programs to help members understand best practices for protecting their privacy and navigating online spaces securely.
• Ensure the platform remains secure through regular security audits.
• Enable members to control their own data visibility and interaction settings, ensuring that individuals have full control over their personal information and who can access it.
• Maintain the society as a nonprofit, member-funded organization to ensure that the platform remains free from external commercial influence, allowing its mission of protecting user privacy and security to stay at the forefront.
• Engage in advocacy efforts to promote and support stronger privacy protections for individuals, both within and beyond the platform.
• Create a welcoming space for people who prioritize privacy and safety, ensuring that SocialSafety remains inclusive and respectful of diverse backgrounds and viewpoints, and free from harassment or harmful behavior.

Member-Funded Statement

This society is a member-funded society. It is funded primarily by its members to carry on activities for the benefit of its members. On its liquidation or dissolution, this society may distribute its money and other property to its members.

The Society is funded by, and relies exclusively on, membership fees, and does not accept charity donations, grants, or subsidies from any private or public organization, or individuals.
