By accessing or using SocialSafety.ca (the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") issued by the Safe Social Networking Society (the "Society", "we", "us", or "our").

If you do not accept all terms, you are prohibited from using the Platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

• Use of SocialSafety.ca constitutes full acceptance of these Terms.
• If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must stop using the Platform immediately.

2. Eligibility

• You must be 18 years or older, or have verifiable parental consent.
• All registration information must be accurate and truthful.
• We reserve the right to reject or revoke access at any time, for any reason, without explanation.

3. Member Conduct

Strict behavioral standards apply. Prohibited conduct includes:

• Illegal, harmful, or abusive activity
• Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior
• Extremist, violent, or sexually explicit content
• Spam, unauthorized marketing, or solicitation
• Impersonation or fraudulent identity use
• Data scraping, automation tools, or system interference

Violations may result in immediate account removal without warning.

4. Privacy and Data Integrity

• We do not track, monitor, sell, or share personal data with third parties.
• We do not use third-party cookies or advertising technologies.
• All use is governed by our Privacy Policy.
• We may disclose data to law enforcement or government agencies when legally required.

5. Content Standards

• You are fully responsible for the content you post.
• We reserve the right to remove any content at any time, with or without notice.
• Prohibited content includes defamation, obscenity, incitement, violence, or material that disrupts the community.

6. Account Security

• You must protect your login credentials and keep them confidential.
• Account sharing or unauthorized access is prohibited.
• Report any suspected breach immediately.

7. Platform Access

• The Platform is provided "as-is" and "as-available."
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or data availability.
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or shut down any part of the Platform at any time, without prior notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

• Use of the Platform is at your own risk.
• The Society is not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages.
• No warranties of any kind are provided, either express or implied.

9. Termination of Access

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate any account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. No explanation is required.

Examples of conduct that may result in termination include:

• Harassment, bullying, or abuse
• Hate speech or discriminatory content
• Pornography or graphic material
• Spam or commercial promotion without authorization
• Impersonation or fraud
• Attempts to bypass moderation or platform security
• Advocacy of illegal activity
• Spreading false or harmful information

All termination decisions are final. We are not required to provide justification or evidence.

Appeal Process
You may submit one appeal per account. We may review the appeal at our discretion. Appeals may be denied without explanation. Repeated or serious violations are not eligible for appeal.

10. Intellectual Property

• All content, software, and materials on the Platform are owned by the Society.
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute content without written permission.

11. External Links

• The Platform may contain links to external websites.
• We are not responsible for third-party content, practices, or privacy policies.

12. Amendments

• These Terms may be updated at any time.
• Continued use of the Platform means you accept the most current version.

13. Governing Law

• These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
• Any legal disputes must be resolved within that jurisdiction.

Your use of SocialSafety.ca signifies your full acceptance of these Terms.

When ready, you can add 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) or MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) to your account. The following options are available.

Initially your profile banner is generated in a random colour. The profile banner and a photo can be uploaded by hovering on the banner, or by editing your personal profile. 

A commumity can be created and managed by using the Community icon on the top menu. 

Important

• All communitiies are self-moderated. You have the ability to manage, block, delete or message community members. 
• We monitor Private and By-Invitation-Only communities. 
• Any community that violates the Terms of Agreement shall be disabled, blocked and/or deleted as deemed appropriate by SocialSafety. 

Give a thought to the type of community desired. Once created the Type cannot be changed - it can only be deleted. 

MarketSpace is a national database of Canadian listings by Pro members, searchable by province, city etc.   

• MarketSpace is intended for professionials, businesses and organizations. 
• Listings are accessible by all SocialSafety members.
• Only Pro members can post listings.
• Basic members can search and view listings, but can not post listings.
